Climbing Workshops

OAC workshops provide a great chance to get together with other like minded enthusiasts or to refine your individual skills one to one. All sessions are based around Devon climbing venues and gyms but can be available elsewhere. If you are unsure where your closest climbing gym or outdoor venue is, check out my post – Climbing in Devon.

Spaces are limited so please let us know if you’d like to come along. As the season progresses I will also be working to create some social and community events so if you have any questions or aren’t sure which session is suitable for you, just ask the question.

Women’s Events

All sessions provided by OAC can be run as women’s events. As a female climber and outdoors person I have hugely benefited from the opportunity to access women’s events across the industry and am enthusiastic to provide the opportunity to others if this supports people getting active, getting outdoors, or trying something new. Check out my post about a range of fantastic events and resources for women in the outdoors and climbing world.

Indoor Climbing Workshops

*Climbing centre entry fee is not included in workshop price*

Indoor climbing inductions

Available November – March at an indoor climbing centre of your choice, maximum group ratio 1:4

If  you would like to learn the basics of climbing and how to keep you and your climbing partner safe this is the course for you. You will learn how to belay, fit a harness and tie in correctly and progress to catching falls as well as getting to grips with climbing movement.

Indoor climbing progression

Available November – March at an indoor climbing centre of your choice, maximum group ratio 1:6

If you already have the basic skills and would like to learn a little more about climbing movement and climbing efficiently to access more routes, opt for a top rope progression workshop. We will look at climbing holds, movement and technique and tactical climbing in more depth.

If you would like to book both an induction and progression workshop together we can arrange multiple sessions across several weeks to really ramp up your confidence and ability.

Indoor Bouldering Workshop

Available November – March at a indoor centre of your choice, maximum group ratio 1:6

This workshop will introduce you to indoor bouldering and all the safety and ethical tips you need to know in order to hit the gym independently. Throughout the workshop we will work on movement coaching, route reading, breaking down harder routes and movements and developing techniques and skills to take away with you. The course is suitable for absolute beginners or those who want to join other like minded climbers in tackling some problems and progress their skills.
